The Weeknd officially released his latest studio album, 'Hurry Up Tomorrow', via XO/Republic Records, marking the final chapter of his critically acclaimed trilogy that began with 'After Hours' (2020) and continued with 'Dawn FM' (2022). The album arrives after a record-breaking 2024, during which The Weeknd became the first artist in history to have 27 songs with over 1 billion streams each on Spotify.
In an interview with Rolling Stone, he shares, "I’m an Adult Swim geek. I grew up on that. In my dark times, they took me out of my head. [Appearing on those shows] was me saying, ‘Thank you for being there and making me laugh.’ Comedy’s always a big thing in my house.”
'Hurry Up Tomorrow' is Weknd's personal and introspective installment of the final trilogy, offering fans a deep dive into his evolution. The album’s release was initially delayed out of respect for those affected by the devastating Palisades and Eaton wildfires in Los Angeles. Originally scheduled for January 24th, the album’s launch was postponed, and The Weeknd canceled a planned one-night-only concert at Pasadena’s Rose Bowl. In a heartfelt gesture, he donated $1 million to the LAFD Foundation, GoFundMe’s Wildfire Relief Fund, and the LA Regional Food Bank.
Proceeds from the album track “Take Me Back To LA” will also be donated to the LA Regional Food Bank, which provides emergency food assistance to those impacted by the wildfires.
To celebrate the album’s release, The Weeknd appeared on 'Jimmy Kimmel Live!' to perform a unique rendition of “Open Hearts,” captivating audiences with his signature blend of haunting vocals and electrifying stage presence. Fans can watch the performance [here].
“People tell me I’m changing the culture; I already can’t turn on the radio. I think I’m gonna drop one more album, one more powerful body of work, then take a little break — go to Tokyo or Ethiopia or some shit.” (Source: Genius)
In partnership with Spotify, was announced the Hurry Up Tomorrow “Pop Up Experience” an immersive art installation set to take place in New York City from January 31st to February 2nd. The experience will transport fans through the mind of The Weeknd, offering a journey into the creative process behind his final trilogy act.
In anticipation for new release was a sold-out, one-night-only stadium concert at Estádio Morumbi in São Paulo, Brazil. The performance, streamed exclusively on YouTube, drew millions of global viewers and featured surprise appearances by Playboi Carti and Anitta.
The album’s lead single, “Timeless,” debuted in the Top 3 on Billboard’s Hot 100 after being teased during the São Paulo performance.

Later this year, The Weeknd will expand his creative horizons with a feature film inspired by 'Hurry Up Tomorrow'.
