Parker purportedly made contact with the adult, claiming to be homeless and in need of a place to stay.
An indictment was revealed recently in Boston accusing Christy Parker, 26; Alexander Smalls, 25; Cory Primo, 42; Avvani Jeffers, 22; Tre’sean Reid, 21; and Tyreik Reid, 20, with charges related to conspiracy to engage in sex trafficking and other related offenses.
As per the indictment, from January to August 2023, Parker, Smalls, Tre’sean Reid, and Tyreik Reid allegedly used various means such as force, threats, fraud, and coercion to compel an adult woman to participate in commercial sex.
Additionally, the indictment claims that between July and August 2023, Parker, Smalls, Primo, and Jeffers employed similar tactics to compel a minor into commercial sex. Moreover, in August 2023, Parker, Primo, and Jeffers purportedly recruited, harbored, transported, provided, obtained, and maintained another minor for commercial sex. Lastly, the indictment asserts that all defendants conspired to commit sex trafficking from January to August 2023.
Parker purportedly made contact with the adult, claiming to be homeless and in need of a place to stay. After moving in with the victim, along with her boyfriend Smalls, they reportedly coerced the victim into quitting her job and engaging in commercial sex.
According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Parker and Smalls allegedly pressured the victim into signing a ‘profit sharing contract’ that demanded loyalty, humility, and focus. Subsequently, they allegedly compelled the victim to participate in commercial sex acts, including scheduling, coordinating, and setting prices, while taking all the profits.
Parker allegedly utilized physical violence, threats, and other means to control the victim.
Furthermore, Parker allegedly accompanied the victim to South Carolina in the spring of 2023, where she continued to traffic the victim for profit. Upon returning from South Carolina, Parker purportedly recruited Primo and Jeffers to traffic the victim across Massachusetts and Rhode Island.
Jeffers was taken into custody on June 27 and appeared in court later that same day. Currently, Jeffers remains detained pending a hearing scheduled for July 8. Parker and Primo are set to appear in U.S. District Court in Boston on July 8. Smalls, who awaits trial in South Carolina, will be arraigned in Boston at a later date. Tyreik Reid will have a detention hearing on July 10 in U.S. District Court in South Carolina. Tre’sean Reid is currently evading law enforcement.
If found guilty of sex trafficking using force, fraud, or coercion, each defendant faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 15 years in prison and a maximum of life imprisonment. Conviction on charges of sex trafficking involving a minor carries a mandatory minimum sentence of 10 years in prison and a maximum of life imprisonment.
Conspiracy to commit sex trafficking carries a maximum penalty of life imprisonment. The sentence for each defendant will be determined by a federal district court judge, who will consider the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and other legal factors.
