The Maryland State Police Homicide Unit is tirelessly searching for any leads that could potentially help solve unsolved cases that may be linked to a convicted murderer. This individual, who has since passed away, was charged with a 2006 homicide in Frederick County. Garry Artman, a 64-year-old resident of White Springs, Florida, was charged with first- and second-degree murder, as well as first- and second-degree assault in connection with the murder of Dusty Shuck, a 24-year-old woman whose body was discovered near a rest stop.
Artman was awaiting extradition to Maryland to face trial, but unfortunately, he succumbed to a terminal illness while incarcerated at the Michigan Department of Corrections on December 28, 2023.

In December 2023, while undergoing medical treatment at a hospital in Michigan, Artman found himself in the hot seat as investigators from the Maryland State Police Homicide Unit grilled him.
The intensity of the situation escalated when Artman shockingly confessed to the murder of Dusty Shuck.
But that was just the tip of the iceberg. As the police delved deeper into their interviews with Artman, he nonchalantly admitted to being responsible for several other heinous crimes.
However, he frustratingly provided very little information, leaving the authorities grasping at straws. With Artman's nomadic lifestyle as a truck driver, crisscrossing the country, the police are now on a relentless hunt for any leads that could potentially link him to other unsolved cases.
