Initial findings suggest that the driver of the silver Infiniti, later identified as Cori Clingman, 23, from Upper Marlboro, was heading north on Route 4/Pennsylvania Avenue in Prince George’s County.
Three lives were tragically lost this morning in Prince George's County as Maryland State Police investigate a fatal crash. The victims have been identified as Isaiah Hazel, 23, Khyree Jackson, 24, and Anthony Lytton, Jr., 24. Hazel and Jackson were declared deceased at the scene, while Lytton passed away at the University of Maryland Capital Region Medical Center.
Three individuals were in the maroon Dodge Charger during the accident. Hazel was behind the wheel, Jackson was in the front passenger seat, and Lytton was seated in the back. At around 3:14 a.m. today, officers from the Forestville Barrack rushed to the scene of a collision on northbound Route 4/Pennsylvania Avenue and Presidential Parkway, just north of Dower House Road in Upper Marlboro. The vehicles in the crash included a silver Infinity Q50, a silver Chevrolet Impala, and the maroon Dodge Charger.
Initial findings suggest that the driver of the silver Infiniti, later identified as Cori Clingman, 23, from Upper Marlboro, was heading north on Route 4/Pennsylvania Avenue in Prince George’s County. It is believed that Clingman tried to switch lanes at a high speed, resulting in a collision with the Dodge Charger and the Chevrolet Impala. The Charger then veered off the road, hitting several tree stumps before coming to a stop.
Clingman's Infinity had two other passengers during the accident, but fortunately, no one was hurt in her vehicle.
The driver of the Chevrolet Impala was the only occupant and he also escaped unharmed from the collision, declining medical attention at the scene.
Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration personnel were involved in managing road closures. The northbound lanes of Route 4/Pennsylvania Road were reopened at 10:20 a.m. today.
There is suspicion that alcohol might have played a role in the crash.
Charges are pending as the investigation continues and consultation with the Prince George’s County State’s Attorney’s Office takes place. The Maryland State Police Crash Team is spearheading the investigation.
