Hanumankind, government name Sooraj Cherukat, was born in Malappuram Kerala (Kerala is a state located in the southwestern part of India, along the Malabar Coast), he moved to live in Texas USA for a time before settling in Bengaluru (Source: FILMIBEAT). Growing up in a diverse neighborhood, Hanumankind was exposed to a melting pot of musical influences from an early age. He fostered a deep appreciation for their cultural heritage while embracing the eclectic sounds of the American music scene.
His teenage years were marked by a fascination with hip-hop, and he began writing his own rap lyrics as a teenager. Inspired by the lyrical complexity of artists like Nas, the innovative beats of Kanye West, and the lyrical stints from Kendrick Lamar to J Cole.
In his early twenties, Sooraj adopted the stage name Hanumankind, a nod to Hanuman, a revered deity in Hindu mythology known for his strength and devotion. The name reflected both his cultural heritage and his commitment to breaking boundaries in music.
The Malayalam rapper (Malayalam, a Dravidian language, is primarily spoken by the Malayali community in the Indian state of Kerala, as well as in the union territories of Lakshadweep and Puducherry. It holds the distinction of being one of the 22 officially recognized languages in India) gained initial recognition through a series of underground mixtapes that showcased his distinctive style like “Enemies” and “Namma Stories” garnered attention from local DJs and music bloggers. By 2012, Hanumankind’s talent caught the eye of prominent producers and he signed a deal with indie label Harmony Beats.
Hanumankind's latest release, 'Big Dawgs', has caused a global sensation with fans from all corners of the world flocking to the YouTube comments section. Viewers are captivated by Hanumankind's performance in the Well of Death, a thrilling fairground attraction where vehicles defy gravity.
The music video was filmed in a small town near Hanumankind's hometown. Their previous collaboration, the 2023 track 'Go To Sleep' with music by Parimal Shais, paid homage to Fight Club and is still remembered by fans of Hanumankind's raw and unapologetic rap. It took a year and a half, but now, 'Big Dawgs' with music by Kalmi, is Hanumankind's most successful song to date.
The Hindu elaborates in an interview with Hanumankind, “the idea resonated with their ethos of “no risk, no reward” the rapper says. “This is something all of us have grown up watching, not just in India, but around the world too. We prepped ourselves, shot and released it, and now, here we are.”
The video garnered international praise and generated a lot of excitement from his hip-hop idols such as Project Pat, Bun B, and others. Hanumankind admits that it was "nerve-wracking" to be inside the car as it defied gravity.
(India Cricket Official) “They call it the Well of Death for a reason,” he explains. “You have to credit those who perform there every day because they risk their lives to entertain people. I was there for just one day, but I’m blessed they accepted me into their community and let me take part in this incredible experience.”
Directed by Bijoy Shetty, the music video delivers an exhilarating three minutes and 54 seconds of stunning visuals that, combined with its captivating soundtrack, will keep you on the edge of your seat, sporting a serious stank face and grooving to the rhythm. With around 8 million views and currently trending on YouTube, the video is set in Ponnani, often referred to as the “Mecca of Kerala.” It features a breathtaking dome-like structure known as the well of death, where daring performers zip around on motorcycles and small vehicles, racing along walls made of wooden planks.

[Intro]
Uh, yeah, uh, yeah
Uh, yeah, uh, yeah
Uh, yeah, uh, yeah
Uh, yeah, uh, yeah
[Verse 1]
Wait a minute (Uh), get it how you live it (Uh)
Ten toes in when we standin' on business
I'm a big stepper, underground methods
Top-notch hoes get the most, not the lesser (Most, not the lesser)
Straight terror, product of your errors
Pushing culture, baby, got that product you can't measure (Product you can't measure)
Trend-setter, the one who gets hеr wetter
Swerving whilе I'm bumping Project Pat, yeah
Yeah, rollin' through the city with the big dawgs
Fuck the laws, lawyer with me, we ain't gotta call
Celly on silent, but the product end up hella loud
That's how you make the money pile for everyone involved
But if you don't deserve a cut, then we gon' cut them off (Cut them off)
My barber got me looking proper every single time
Fresh fade getting faded on that top grade
You ain't walkin' out alive smoking what we on
And you know I gotta pour it for the ones who gone (Gone)
R.I.P., it's in your memory we carry on
When I die, they will not bury me, now what I want
Burn my body, pour my ashes in a river, y'all
That's how we knowing that the flow about to carry on
See immortality's a fallacy, I prove 'em wrong
The Sourthern family gon' carry me to way beyond
Anything you've ever known, anything you've done
[Chorus]
They ask me, "How you be like this? (What?)
How you live like this? (What? What? What?)"
Why you woried 'bout it, ho? Get up off my dick (Get up off my dick)
Get up out the way (Get up out the way)
What you think this is? (What you think this is?)
We ain't worried 'bout it, ho, watch me skrrt the whip
They ask me, "How you get like this? (What? What?)
How you live like this? (What? What?)"
Why you worried 'bout it, ho? Get up off my dick (Get up off my dick)
Get up out the way (Get up out the way)
What you think this is? (What you think this is?)
We ain't worried 'bout it, ho, watch me skrrt the whip, yeah
[Verse 2]
Yeah, swerving, moving to the money like it's urgent
Hands on guy so I'm in it like a surgeon (Like a surgeon)
Uh, the skin colour like the bourbon
A worldwide sign that we face close curtains (Close curtains)
Out here yo, nothing's ever certain
Only thing that's promised is that promises are broken (Promises are broken)
Yeah, so we finding ways to cope then
Only thing I'm breaking is her back with the motions (Whoo)
Yeah, baby girl bring out the goodies
Snuck it in inside her hoodie, now we turnin' up to boogie (Yeah)
In school I used to fight the bullies, now I'm fighting with the law
Guess some things don't leave you fully (Yessir)
They try and push me then they try and pull me
Bet I will not budge, if you doubt it then just call my bookie
And my bookie taking bet
Prophesize a profit when you know what's coming next like ooh
[Part II]
[Verse]
Yeah, baby girl bring out the goodies
Snuck it in inside her hoodie, now we turnin' up to boogie (Yeah)
In school I used to fight the bullies, now I'm fighting with the law
Guess some things don't leave you fully
They try and push me then they try and pull me
Bet I will not budge, if you doubt it then just call my bookie
And my bookie taking bet
Prophesize a profit when you know what's coming next like uh
Money on my mind, we gon' run it up
See what you can find, baby push your luck

[Outro]
Money on my mind, we gon' run it up
