In addition, Maryland Child Protective Services promptly arrived after being contacted.
The Maryland State Police are currently conducting an ongoing investigation into the tragic and suspicious deaths of two young individuals in Cecil County. The deceased juveniles have been identified as Skylar Alice Marie Jones, aged 14, and Gaige Marshall Dehaven, aged 10, both residents of Perryville.
Sadly, Skylar and Gaige were pronounced dead at the scene by emergency medical service personnel from Cecil County. Despite conducting an autopsy, the cause and manner of their deaths remain unknown as no abnormalities were found. The investigators are now eagerly awaiting the results of the toxicology tests.
On January 16, 2024, just before 1:20 pm, officers from the Perryville Police Department and troopers from the North East Barrack swiftly responded to a distressing 9-1-1 call made by a 12-year-old girl, who was later identified as the sister of the two deceased juveniles.
The young girl reported that her brother and sister were experiencing an unknown medical condition. She further revealed to the police that upon arriving home, she discovered her siblings unconscious on the floor of their bedroom. Authorities believe that there was no one else present in the residence at the time of the incident.

To further delve into the matter, a search and seizure warrant was obtained for the residence. Inside the house, investigators discovered drug paraphernalia alongside other items that held significant evidentiary value.
The investigation remains in progress, with investigators from the Maryland State Police Criminal Enforcement Division Northern Region working hand in hand with officers from the Perryville Police Department. Rest assured, this investigation is actively ongoing, leaving no stone unturned.
